GRP Crossover Duct

The phenolic fibreglass reinforced ducting pieces illustrated are examples of Flexadux Plastics capability to supply solutions to complex engineering problems in underground environments. Working with the engineers at Wistow Mine in North Yorkshire this crossover system was designed and manufactured to enable a 1066mm diameter ducting system to pass over a 760mm diameter at a crossing point underground. Clearly at these diameters in a low roof area there would have been a problem with resricted height. Using this system we reduced the combined from over 1.8 metres down to just 1 metre.

Using the UK mining approved Phenolic resin system to manufacture these pieces allowed the mine engineers to safely install the system in the roof with ease.
